As Hydrus™ provides fast and thorough disinfection while not being classed as hazardous it is an ideal solution for general disinfection, including nursing homes, surgeries, salons, schools, crèches, offices, and other workplaces opening in line with the Government’s ‘Return to Work Safely Protocol’.
No – Hydrus™ is safe to use. This means it can be used without the need for expensive PPE, employee training, or long waits before disinfected areas are ready for use. We do, however, recommend anyone involved in professional cleaning wear gloves and, when spraying, eye protection.
No - Hydrus™ Ready-to-use can be used simply by applying to a cloth and wiping on surfaces. Other common ways to apply Hydrus™ Read-to-Use liquid are through sprayers or fogging machines.
We also now have Hydrus™ Wipes available – high-grade wipes ready for use on any surface, and particularly useful for desks and computer keyboards. For wiping screens and polished surfaces, however, we recommend the use of alcohol wipes.

We are able to make this claim because Hydrus™ has passed (with only 2 minutes contact time) the EN14476:2013 + A2:2019 test - the relevant standard for virucidal efficacy, including SARS-CoV-2.
Yes, Hydrus™ is safe for surfaces including laminates and metals - we are not aware of any surfaces or materials that Hydrus™ is not suitable for. However, we cannot test every material and dye available on the market, so if you have fabrics or soft furnishings that are of particular concern we would recommend you test a small amount of Hydrus on a discreet corner of the fabric first.
Hydrus™ is safe to use and, unlike some other common disinfectants on the market, does not contain any hazardous substances.
The unique Sodium Hypochlorite formulation of Hydrus™ delivers strong results at a lower pH than comparable Peracetic Acid or Hydrogen Peroxide disinfectants. This means by comparison Hydrus™ is less corrosive and leaves negligible residue unlike Peracetic acid and Hydrogen Peroxide formulations, which leave chlorate, chlorite and perchlorate residue.
Other disinfectants, such as some types of Quats (Quaternary Ammonium Compounds), are not safe for food surfaces, are known irritants, and are linked to respiratory issues in humans as well as fertility issues in mice.

Yes – as Hydrus™ is not classed as hazardous, there is no problem in using it on surfaces or in areas where food is prepared.

Unlike many other common disinfectants (eg some types of Quats) which remain hazards on surfaces long after they are applied, Hydrus™ will leave surfaces ready to use as soon as the product has dried. Hydrus™ is Quat free.
We advise not to use Hydrus™ on screens as alcohol wipes are better for this application.
We are not aware of other surfaces that cannot be treated with Hydrus™ but the best advice is always to try a small sample area first, mainly fabrics if there is a concern. Hydrus™ is not corrosive.
As a chlorine disinfectant, Hydrus™ does smell like bleach. However, unlike bleach, Hydrus™ is not classed as hazardous. It can be used directly on hands and is safe on surfaces.
Unfortunately not. Hydrus™ is fast and effective, but it does not work as a persistent disinfectant.
The class of chemical needed for this are called Quats (Quaternary Ammonium Compounds), many of which are both hazardous and have known health concerns. Hydrus™, by contrast, is not classed as hazardous and can be used safely on your skin as a hand sanitizer.
